This video was created by the Farmington Hills Historic District Commission in 2015. It is kind of funny because the camera rolled throughout the interview and we kept expecting them to stop. Steve and I are not usually this awkward!
For those interested in toy trains, the 3rd floor at Oakewood is home to a collection and layout, and a popular spot at parties. All equipment is from the 1915-35 period.
Melody was asked to make an intro video for her Jazzercise class having gone virtual due to the quarantine. We didn't really follow the rules but there is an "official" plug at the the end.
We recently hosted a local theatre group, Thistle Rose Academy, so they could do their promotion photo shoot at the house. This is for their youth theatre production of "The Crimson House Murders". This ties in well with our Addams Family leanings.
Parties, historic-themed lectures and educational tours occur regularly at Oakewood. We have hosted visitors from as far away as the Netherlands and people who lived down the street for 50 years and were never inside the house.
